About the game

Lower a submersible into the dark and let it work. Idle Abyss keeps diving while the app is closed. When you come back there is a haul of salvage waiting, and sometimes an animal you have never seen before.

The sub goes down through five real ocean zones, from the Sunlight Zone to the Trenches at 11,000 metres. Everything it catches goes into a bestiary of 40 real ocean animals, and each entry carries a true fact about that animal. You spend salvage on four upgrades: hull (go deeper), winch (go faster), floodlights (rarer finds) and air tanks (dive longer while you are away). When a hull has gone as far as it can, you can scuttle it and start again with a permanent bonus. Your bestiary and record depth always carry over.

It is built to be fair. Rewarded ads are opt-in and nothing is locked behind one. The only full-screen ad can play when you scuttle a hull, at most once every 4 minutes, and never in your first 3 sessions or first 24 hours. Daily rewards come from a fixed table that the game shows you in full, with a free streak freeze once a week. There is one optional purchase to remove ads, and no subscription or loot boxes.
